Why the move was made
The previous publishing setup had grown awkward to maintain — server checks for the SB and MT setups had to be run separately, and small housekeeping tasks kept piling up. Consolidating into a single WordPress install was a way to bring entry management, IP logging, and site updates under one roof.
What the migration covered
- Entry management consolidated from the earlier SB and MT blog builds into WordPress.
- IP check logs continued alongside the main blog rather than as a separate system.
- Layout cleanup for category links, archives, and the comment thread pages.
The work was paced across several days, so a few leftover paths were still being redirected at the time the note was first posted.
Notes left at the time
Small quirks were tracked alongside the migration: an item was filed under the wrong category and corrected, and a 100-yen strong pack of potato chips occasionally crossed the desk during late sessions. These everyday details were kept inline with the technical notes.
For the wider history of server checks on this site, the IP Address Check History log remains the primary reference.
